Three South Korean military personnel have been killed on Monday when their helicopter crashed in the country's east region, Yonhap news agency cited military authorities as reporting.

韩国联合通讯社援引军方报道，本周一一架直升机在东部地区坠毁，三名军事人员遇难。

The UH-1H Army helicopter went down at about 10:10 a.m. (0110 GMT) in the eastern city of Chuncheon.

The chopper crashed into a farmland beside an aviation corps¹ while conducting a functional² checkout³ flight.

Four soldiers aboard the chopper were rescued and taken to nearby hospitals, but three died while being treated. The remaining one is suffering heavy injury, but reportedly has consciousness.

No other damage and casualty has been reported. The exact cause of the crash is being investigated.
