Chinanews, Beijing, December 26 – According to a report by the Economic Information Center of Beijing, “putting price hike under control”tops Beijingers' wishes list for 2008.
“Price hike” has become a common talk of Beijingers in 2007, with 91.11% of the respondents to the center's survey complaining about its impact1 on their lives. Nearly 50% of them admit that their living conditions have been badly affected2 by the price hike, especially in food and rent. Beijingers also wish that social polarization could be narrowed and the income of the general public could be improved. Cooling the overheated property market and increasing job vacancies3 are also among the top concerns of many Beijingers.
