Chinanews, Beijing, July 6 – From July 9, Beijing will start to clear beggars and peddlers out of its subway and light rail trains.

Beijing will send 13 teams in the operation. Local police will take care of beggars and peddlers found by them.

“There are too many beggars and peddlers in our trains, and we have received several complaints from passengers about that,” said the spokesperson of Beijing Mass Transit¹ Railway Operation Corp.

The operation will consist of two phases. The first one is planned to end on July 22, during which, most of the beggars and peddlers will be ousted². The second phase will be from July 23 to August 31, which is meant to guarantee the effect of the first one.
