China's Civil Aviation Administration estimates that around 500,000 civil pilots should be trained to meet the market demands by 2035, while the number stands at thousands at present in the country.

 

The policy change comes on the heels of the country's determination to boost infrastructure², in a bid to buoy³ the cooling economy.

 

It is reported that over 200 aviation companies are applying for business licenses⁴ to operate in the new market.

 

The affluent⁵ are also waiting for their own private jets that can fly over the sky.

 

As pilot schools may launch programs to train civil pilots, oversea institutions are also looking to join hands with Chinese partners, offering new programs that may cost some 100,000 U.S. dollars.

 

Besides training more professionals, some of the programs will also focus on rich people who wish to fly their own jets.

 

China's current training system can only produce 100 pilots a year.

 

Industry insiders say that Beijing will publish a detailed⁶ regulation on the newly-opened aviation market by the end of this year.

 

They also hold high hopes that the country will further open its airspace to 3,000 meters in 2020.
