Nov. 25 - Rescuers found another body of the victim from Tuesday's landslide1 in central China's Hubei Province Sunday morning, bringing the death toll2 of the accident to 31.

The newly-found victim was identified as a 32-year-old resident of Daganping Village, Badong County, whose surname is Yang.

He is one of the two construction workers who were reported missing after the accident, the rescue headquarters told Xinhua.

Yang's family have arrived at the site to deal with the aftermath, said Tang Mingyi, spokesman with the rescue headquarters.

The landslide occurred at around 8:40 a.m. on Tuesday at the entrance of the railway tunnel at Badong County. About 3,000 cubic meters of rubble3 buried a nearby construction site and a long-distance bus passing by, which is said to have 30 people aboard.

One construction worker was killed at the site and another 29 passengers on the bus from Shanghai to Lichuan city in Hubei were found dead later.

Rescuers are searching for the rest missing, including Yang's colleague, a 46-year-old Daganping villager whose surname is Li and the last passenger on the bus, said the spokesman.

However, the victim number may be larger than expected as rescuer at the site said they have found three motorcycles from the debris4 on early Saturday morning, which has not been confirmed by the rescuer headquarters.

The central government has paid great attention to the accident. The State Council will set up a task force to carry out investigation5 into the accident, said Wang Dexue, deputy head of the State Administration on Work Safety.

The task force will include investigators6 from the State Administration on Work Safety, the ministries7 of Railways, Supervision8 and the All China Federation9 of Trade Unions, said Wang, who arrived at the site on Friday afternoon to supervise the rescue operation.

"The accident has caused great losses to local people and we should draw lessons from it to prevent reoccurrence of similar accidents," said Wang, who also requires full cooperation for investigation from different government departments concerned.

Rescuers are working around clock to clear the site to ensure the traffic of the State Highway 318, which links Shanghai to Tibet, can be resumed by the end of this month as planned, said Zhang Xinhua, head of the rescue headquarters.

However, it is a difficult job as the highway was blocked with huge boulders10 and they had to blow them up.

Meanwhile, experts have finished collecting DNA11 samples of the recovered bodies found inside the bus, which was crumbled12 to a pile of wreckages.

Most of the victim families have arrived at the Badong County. According to Zhang, local government has drafted two compensation plans for the families of passengers and construction workers respectively.

"The exact amount of compensation is under negotiation13, but it is sure that the opinions of the victims' families will be given full consideration," said Zhang.
