They came to China for the first time in 1999, and they were deeply impressed by the beautiful landscape and unsophisticated people. They decided1 to move to Tongzhou District, Beijing last February, and they have started to work as voluntary teachers in the local English corner since last April.

 

Both of them cherish2 a strong affection3 for China and its culture. Thus their home is decorated with all kinds of handicrafts with unique Chinese style, which they bought on their trips around the country. "Many of our friends envy our collections, "said Jim.

 

Jim and Lorene used to live in a big farm in Indiana with a big family of 50 members, but they believe China should be where they really belong. Now they only go back to U.S. in summer.
