Chinanews, Beijing, May 25 – A recent survey on Chinese public's mental attitude shows that Chinese people give high credibility rate to the central government. They trust the central government “very much”, Democracy and Science magazine reported.

In regard to information, most people trust the information released by the government or its media more than the information posted on the Internet or that learned through hearsay1.

In recent years, many Chinese people complain about the high costs in education, medical service and housing. The survey shows that the problems that bother Chinese people most are the "low family income and low living standards", the "high medical costs", and the "poor living conditions".

What Chinese public feel most secured about are their personal information and privacy. What Chinese people feel most unsecured about is food. For other things related with safety, their safety rate from high to low are personal safety, work safety, property safety, transportation safety and medical service safety.

How do Chinese people think about the various social problems? The survey shows that the difficulty in getting medical services and the high costs of these medical services, unemployment, and the widening gap between the rich and the poor are ranked as the three most serious social problems on the list.

Among the ten most serious social problems that are listed, less than 10% of the Chinese people think problems such as unfair treatment to migrant workers, relationship between officials and non-officials, legal injustice2, low compensation to residents whose houses are dismantled3, prostitution, and conflict between employers and employees, are big social problems.

Information shows that most people think that conflicts arise most easily between officials and non-officials, and next between the rich and the poor. Relations between the governing group and those who are governed and relations between employers and employees are listed on the third and fourth position where conflicts most easily occur. As to the other groups, only a few respondents pick them up as a group where conflicts often occur.
