Chinanews, Hangzhou, Apr. 30 – Thousands of people participated in the matchmaking fair on Saturday in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. To many people’s surprise, most participants were college girls.

Currently many girls expected to graduate this summer are busy hunting for jobs, and while some of them believe that to find a high-salaried husband is the most important thing, for a husband with a high income will bring his wife a happy life. To this end, they often want to seek help from matchmaking agencies.

Statistics from the organizers of the matchmaking fair revealed that many college girls were born in 1984, and there are also many female postgraduate1 students among them who were born in 1980.

Ms. Liu, from Zhejiang University, said that she wanted to work in Hangzhou after graduation, but until now she had failed to find a proper job here. Liu wished to have marriage partner being economically independent, having a stable job and able to afford to buy a car and an apartment. She also told our reporter that age was not important to her, and thought one who is 3-8 years older than her would be acceptable.
