Chinanews, Beijing, April 13 - According to CTR Market Research, college students in 30 big Chinese cities are keen on buying IT products, particularly digital gizmos such as laptops, cell phones and portable audio/video players. Averagely, each student spent some 1,485 yuan on them in the previous semester, taking up about 54.8% of their total expenses (excluding tuitions and accommodations). That is to say, college students in the 30 cities spent a total of 7.3 billion yuan on IT products last semester.   Currently, 82.8% of college students have cell phones, 76.3% of them have MP3 players, and 46.6% have portable video players. About 20.8% of them have laptops of their own.   It is said that 73.1% of the students are planning to buy new portable video players, and 28.3% of them say they will buy new cell phones. Obviously, many students are not satisfied with "having" digital gizmos only; they want to enjoy the convenience of hi-tech by updating their "equipment".
