Chinanews, Changsha, April 10 - Ten years ago, multiparity rate in Hunan was some 2%, but the figure leaped to 10% last year.   It is said that "multiparity pills" can be easily acquired in Hunan Province, at a price of about 10 yuan per bottle.   Just as its name implies, the pills help women give birth to more than one infants at a time. Statistics in hospitals in Hunan also show that the number of multiparity babies born in 2006 was some 10% more than in 2005.   "We are very worried that behind the 'multiparity baby boom' might hide the abuse of ovulation-stimulating medicines," said a doctor.   Though some people in the province (about 1,000 couples every year) choose artificial insemination or IVF to help them have babies, the rate of multiparity among them is no more than 20%, which definitely contributes very little to the hike of multiparity rate
