Chinanews, Shanghai, Apr. 6 – More infants were born in Shanghai in 2006. According to Shanghai's Municipal Population and Family Planning Commission, Shanghai will witness more infants born this year.   In recent years, more than 100 thousand babies have been born annuallyin Shanghai, and the municipal government reveals that the population in the city of Shanghai will greatly increase in the next 5-10 years.   Experts reveal that the increased birth rate in the near future is the result of the “baby boom” in the 1970s and 1980s. They also advise women to give birth at the age between 24 and 29, which they say will make their children healthier. In Shanghai there is a birth peak in every 30 years on average.
