Hollywood star Matt Damon was in Beijing on August 16th, 2016 to promote his latest "Jason Borne" film.

Damon says the fifth installment¹ of the Borne franchise² aims to address issues relevant to the modern life. 

 

"Our lives have changed kind of in front of our eyes, so incredibly quickly and then of course there's a major issue of privacy versus³ security and these digital lives that we all have. It's dawned on us that they say a lot about us and who we are, and privy⁴ to that information and who should be. You know these are the central questions that face every country in the world right now." 

 

Damon's earlier film "The Martian" performed very well in China, and he hopes his latest project can repeat that success. 

 

"Hopefully it will find a big audience here in China, but we'll see, the audience will be the judge. It's a good place for every film, it's one of the biggest markets in the world and it's the second biggest right now and it is only growing, so there are huge movie fans here, which is awesome⁵ and for people like me who make movies for a living. This is an incredibly important place."
