Ahead of his trip to the United States, Xi Jinping has given a one-on-one interview with the Wall Street Journal.

美国之行之前,习近平接受了华尔街日报一对一的访问。

As part of the interview, the Chinese President has taken time to address the current slowdown of the Chinese economy, saying it's still operating within the proper range.

He also says the Chinese government is putting a greater emphasis on developing an innovation-and consumption-driven economy.

Xi Jinping has also told the Wall Street Journal there are no plans to change the current policies on foreign investment.

He also says the fight against graft1 among Party officials in China is never going to end, saying the current policy of "zero tolerance2" against corruption3 will never change.

Xi Jinping has also addressed questions connected to the South China Sea, saying Chinese construction in the region does not target any other country.

The Wall Street Journal interview has also covered questions about China-U.S. relations, global governance and China's military.
