一只紫色的小怪物,三个打打闹闹的小孩,一定带给你一个轻松的圣诞节。电影中的小主人公的一句话值得听听——“科迪,怀有童心错了吗?”

Barney's Great Adventure

This is a show about the importance of friends, family and imagination, and it's G-rated to boot.

The show opens with a mom and dad dropping off their children including Cody, sister Abby and her friend Marcella to spend a week at the farm home of Cody and Abby's grandparents. Cody, the cynical1 older brother, pokes2 fun at Abby and Marcella for playing with a stuffed plush Barney toy.

Later, Cody is astounded3 to see the toy turn into the "real" thing: A huge, walking, dancing, singing Barney emerges to play with the kids and lead them around the farm (you haven't seen anything until you've seen Barney in a straw hat and overalls).

One night, a huge egg seems to roll in from the sky and, through a series of misadventures, seems destined4 to be scrambled5 somewhere.

The kids and Barney set out to find the colorful, mysterious egg before it is destroyed. All the while, the reluctant Cody still sneers7 at the fun-loving purple dino and the kids who enjoy him. Abby and Marcella, along with Barney, encourage Cody to use his imagination.

They pursue the errant egg while it "rides" on the back of a truck, ends up in the middle of an enjoyable parade and even hitches along on a hot-air balloon. And throughout, Barney leads the kids on-screen and off-screen in the likes of "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" and "Old MacDonald."

The continuous action and vivid colors keep things interesting enough for the adults to enjoy too. There's absolutely no violence, just happy tunes9 and innocent, silly fun. "What's wrong with just being a kid, Cody?" Abby asks at one point.
