The Chinese air force launched its "Red Sword-2017" drills at the end of November in northwest China, reports the People's Daily.

《人民日报》报道，中国空军已于11月底在西北部地区开展代号“红剑-2017”的军事演习。

The drills included aircraft, missiles, radar¹ systems and other forces from two air defense² bases.

This year's drills included more actual battle environments, new drill content, and an evaluation³ system to strengthen scouting⁴ and alarm response, air assault capabilities⁵, and other operations.
