China is urging India to immediately withdraw its border guards that have crossed the boundary in the Sikkim section of the China-India border.

China's Foreign Ministry¹ has also urged the Indian side to launch a thorough investigation² of this matter.

 

The Chinese ministry said Indian border guards recently entered the Chinese territory and obstructed³ normal activities of Chinese frontier forces in the Donglang area while the Chinese side has taken counter-measures.

 

The ministry also said in view of the above event, China has to postpone⁴ arrangements for the Indian official pilgrims to enter China at the Nathu La Pass for safety reasons.

 

China and India reached a consensus⁵ on the Sikkim segment of the Sino-Indian borders after India gained independence.

 

Earlier, China's defense⁶ ministry also warned that the provocation⁷ by the Indian side has violated the consensus and agreements on border issues between the two countries' governments and seriously endangered the peace of the border area.
