Aquaman star Jason Momoa says he can't continue to shoot the sequel because he's now busy trying to stop construction of the Thirty Meter Telescope, a 1.4 billion-US dollar scientific project on land considered sacred to native Hawaiians.

According to "thewrap.com", an entertainment news website, Momoa also asked fans to support the protest² movement in a follow-up post: "During this time, we are trying to unite both kānaka and Hawaii born peoples alike³ to protect not only the mauna, but also our way of life and greatest natural resources in Hawaii as a whole."

 

Momoa has spent several weeks protesting⁴ on the highest point on the state of Hawaii, Mauna Kea, "thewrap.com" reported.

 

Earlier, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson also protested⁵ the construction of the giant telescope.
