Richie, Longoria among PETA's worst dressed stars for 2006

Nicole Richie.

Animal rights activists1 are furious about Nicole Richie wearing fur in public, and have chosen her as one of its Worst Dressed stars for 2006.

People For The Ethical2 Treatment Of Animals said that while Lionel Richie's adopted daughter doesn't look as though she eats lots of meat, she is a voracious3 wearer of animals.

"This pelt4 wearing party girl is all animal skin and bones. Nicole's an incredible shrinking woman with the heart to match," the Sun quoted a PETA spokesperson, as saying.

Also on this year's list are famous twin Ashley Olsen, Desperate Housewife Eva Longoria and young star Christina Ricci .

"Wearing fur does add 20 pounds. But if Ashley wants to fill out her frame, we suggest using a fork instead," said PETA.

"And you'd think Eva Longoria would be more sympathetic to the plight5 of rabbits considering the way her character the way she screws around like one on Wisteria Lane," the group added.

However Richie's "The Simple Life" co-star Paris Hilton has fallen off the list after reportedly denouncing fur. PETA says the heiress ditched her mink6 coats, fox collars and chinchilla trim after watching a video expose of the fur trade.
