Former U.S. president Barack Obama has hit the Billboard¹ chart for a remix that features him reciting a passage from George Washington's farewell address.

Released last month, the reworked song "One Last Time (44 Remix)" currently takes the No.22 spot on Billboard's R&B chart. It has been streamed hundreds of thousands of times and has been purchased nearly 10,000 times in downloadable form.

 

"One Last Time" is created by Lin-Manuel Miranda originally from the musical "Hamilton." Miranda dubbed² the latest version of his hit song the "44 Remix," as Obama is the 44th President of the United States.

 

The remix also features vocals³ from Tony nominee⁴ Christopher Jackson, who played Washington in "Hamilton." The track was produced by Grammy-winning gospel singer BeBe Winans and Tony and Grammy winner Alex Lacamoire.

 

Miranda performed his song "Alexander Hamilton" at the White House in 2009 when Obama was in office. He went on to write "Hamilton," which hit Broadway in 2015 and became a cultural phenomenon, winning 11 Tonys, a Pulitzer Prize and a Kennedy Center Honor. Miranda returned to the White House to perform "One Last Time" in 2017 in a farewell to Obama.
