Compulsive hoarding1 (or pathological collecting) is a pattern of behavior that is characterized by the excessive acquisition of and inability or unwillingness2 to discard large quantities of objects that cover the living areas of the home and cause significant distress3 or impairment.
 
强迫囤积症(或病态收集癖)指过度大量收集物品且无法或不愿意丢弃任何物品的行为,收集的这些物品会占去家中很多空间,从而给家人带来不便、增加烦恼。
 
Prevalence rates of compulsive hoarding have been estimated at 2-5% in adults, and is greater in older adults than younger groups, in men and women, and is inversely4 related to household income.
