4月19日，在清华大学建校110周年校庆日即将来临之际，中共中央总书记、国家主席、中央军委主席习近平来到清华大学考察。习近平在考察时强调，要坚持中国特色世界一流大学建设目标方向，我国高等教育要为服务国家富强、民族复兴、人民幸福贡献力量。

President Xi Jinping stressed adhering to the direction of building world-class universities with Chinese characteristics as he visited Tsinghua University on April 19 ahead of its 110th anniversary. Xi, who is also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, said China's higher education should make contributions to the prosperity of the country, the rejuvenation¹ of the Chinese nation and the well-being² of the people.
