President Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, called for efforts to promote and encourage the spirit of model workers, the value of work, and the pursuit of fine workmanship. Xi made the remarks while delivering a speech at a gathering¹ to honor model workers and exemplary individuals on November 24.
