Tianjin Olympic Center Stadium near completion

 

 

经过1000多个日夜的建设，天津奥体中心已经进入工程收尾阶段，即将展现在世人面前。这座形似水滴并以此得名的建筑，将成为天津新的标志性景观。在今年的女足世界杯和明年的奥运会结束后，“水滴”的场馆设施将向市民全部开放。

 

 

The inside of the project

 

After over 1,000 days of construction, the Tianjin Olympic Center Stadium is on its way toward inauguration.

 

The project, looking like a water drop, has become a landmark building in the co-host city of the 29th Olympiad and a gateway to Beijing.

 

The Chinese women football team had a week-long training experience in the sports facility last week.The team members were so excited to see its sophistication.

 

The stadium, 380 meters long,270 meters wide and 53 meters high, can meet the standards of staging international football competitions and athletics.

 

Along with such affiliated facilities as big marketplace, exhibition hall, conference room and gym, the stadium is also able to provide the public with space for entertainment, exercises and shopping.

 

With ground-breaking taking place in August 2003, the 60,000-seat project has a land surface of 78,000 square meters. It will host Olympic football preliminaries.
