Canned laughter is fake audience laughter, a separate soundtrack inserted into sitcoms¹ and TV comedies. The mechanical laughter recording² is compared to bland³ canned food that always tastes similar.

 

“罐头笑声”就是植入连续剧或喜剧中的一段假的观众笑声。由于录了音的笑声播出来总是千篇一律的，就像罐头食品吃起来总是同一味道那样，所以叫作“罐头笑声”。
