遇事别hoo-ha

潘玮柏有一首歌叫《Wu Ha》，据说曾经是李小龙的口头语，感觉很有气势的样子。大概因为世界各地语言不同，各国人民在表达惊诧、激动或者欣喜之情时发出的声音似乎也是不同的，随着时间的推移，其中的一些感叹语已经进入了我们的日常生活，成为我们常用的词汇。今天我们要说的hoo-ha就是其中一个。

Hoo-ha has been recorded since the early 1930s, then as now with the sense of a commotion¹, a rumpus or a row. It has various spellings, such as hoo-hah, with and without the hyphen. It seems very likely that it came from Yiddish hu-ha for an uproar² or hullabaloo, which in turn probably derives³ from a Polish exclamation⁴.

Hoo-ha这个词自20世纪30年代初就存在了，表达“喧闹、吵闹、骚动”之意，还可以拼为hoo-hah或者hoo hah。该词很有可能源自于依地语（犹太人使用的国际语）中表示“喧闹、骚动”之意的hu-ha一词，而hu-ha最早是波兰语中的一个感叹词。

除hoo-ha以外，另外还有两个h开头的词hoopla和hullabaloo也都是表达“喧闹，吵闹”的意思，从发音来看，似乎也与hoo-ha有着异曲同工之妙。
