现实世界 meatspace

在网络世界（cyberspace¹）里，我们可以是盖世英雄，也可以是绝世美女；或许富甲一方，甚至身披黄袍也不是没有可能。这样美轮美奂的虚拟世界（virtual world）怎能不让我们沉迷呢？也许是这个虚拟空间太过美好了吧，沉迷其中的人们给相对残酷的现实世界创造了一个看着也有点残酷的名称——meatspace。

Meatspace is a word referring to real life or the physical world, i.e. the flesh-and-blood real world, and conceived as the opposite of cyberspace or virtual reality.

Meatspace指的是与“网络世界”或“虚拟现实”相对的“现实生活”或“物理世界”，也就是我们所说的“有血有肉的真实世界”。

该词最早出现于科幻类文章中，并于2000年被收入《牛津英语字典》。
