中国“免除”受援国“债务”

中国对外援助始于1950年。在过去的几十年，中国政府向160多个国家提供了援助。同时，中国已累计免除49个重债穷国和最不发达国家的374笔对华到期债务。那么，“免除债务”怎么说呢？

China waived² 374 debts of 49 developing countries in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean and the South Pacific by the end of last year, an official with the Ministry³ of Commerce's foreign aid department has said.

据商务部外援司介绍，截至到去年年底，中国已累计免除非洲、亚洲、加勒比和南太地区的49个发展中国家的374笔对华到期债务。

这里，免除债务表达为“waive¹ debts”；“waive”表示免除或自愿放弃一项主张/权利；

例如： If the result proves you are right, I’ll persuade them to waive the claim.
