Chinanews ,Beijing ,October 15 – According to the National Development and Reform Commission, the building of Beijing-Shanghai Express Railway has been approved by the State Council. The designed speed of the express will be 350 km per hour. During trial operation, the train will run at 300 km per hour.

 

There will be 21 stations along the 1,318-km railway. That is to say, it will only take 5 hours to travel from Beijing to Shanghai when the expressway is completed, and it is estimated that 80 million passengers will benefit from the expressway every year.

 

The total investment on the project will be more than 160 billion yuan.

 

Currently, the designing of the project has just started, and the plan needs to be completed and optimized1. The final date of the beginning of it will be confirmed by the State Council after all this has been done.
