Chinanews, Beijing, September 11 – According to Wang Liming, deputy director of the Anti-Corruption1 Bureau of the Supreme3 People’s Procuratorate, only 200-plus corrupt2 officials have fled the country, instead of “thousands” as rumor4 has it.

 

Wang also admitted that many corrupt officials like to deposit bribes5 in foreign banks, which will also make it easier for them to escape. Most of such officials have fled to the countries with different laws dealing6 with corruption, thus to avoid being punished.
