Hong Kong soccer club Happy Valley defeated Mahindra United1 of India in a Group E match of the preliminary2 round of the 2007 AFC Cup in Hong Kong on Tuesday.


Law Chun-Bong scored the first goal for Happy Valley in the 21st minute and made the second after one minute from a corner. He jumped high at the near post to fire the ball into the net.


The visiting team fought back in the second half and Yusif Yakubu found the net from close range for the goal in the 68th minute.


Mahindra, who top the Group E with 3-0 win-loss record, tried to level the game and created many chances but could not turn any of them into a goal.


With the victory3, Happy Valley ranked third in the group. They will face New Radiant4 from Malaysia on May 8 in the next round.
