世界最长山区悬索桥在丽江开工

Construction of a vital suspension bridge has begun near Lijiang city, southwest China's Yunnan province, according to local news portal yunnan.cn.

 

云南新闻网站报道，世界上最长的山区悬索桥已在丽江开工。
 

 

Once completed, it will be the world's longest mountain suspension bridge.

 

1.4 kilometers upriver of the Jin'anqiao hydropower station on the Jinsha River, the Jin'an-Jinshajiang Bridge will be supported by 2 towers, with a central span of 1,386 meters, and smaller spans either side measuring 525 meters in total.

 

The project is a key link along the Chengdu-Lijiang Express (commonly known as the Chengli Expressway), which constitutes part of China's major east-west highway, namely the Shanghai-Chengdu Expressway (Hurong Expressway).
