driveway effect 车道效应

Driveway effect describes a special quality exhibited by a radio program that causes listeners to stay in their cars s in their driveways long after they have arrived home so they can hear the end of the program.

 

Driveway effect（车道效应）指一档广播节目魅力如此之大，以至于人们开车到家以后还不舍得下车，而是把车停在自家门前车道，然后待在车里一直听到节目结束。

 

A specific instance of the driveway effect is often called a driveway moment. NPR listeners often have "driveway moments": they are so engrossed¹ in a story or discussion that they can't get out of the car until there's a break.
