We Met On A Ten Mile Island

Just a little fantasy！

Sun brightly shining

'twas a beautiful day，

until my love said farewell，

and drifted faraway.

Sun went into hiding

cold breezes touched my hair，

what did I say， what did I do

for him to leave me there？

Down to the sea I wandered，

still feeling sad and blue，

I waited until midnight

when passers-by were few.

Discarding my top clothing，

I swam out with the tide，

To that little dreamy island

only ten miles wide.

There I met a charming sailor

and I told him all my woes¹.

He said "forget your troubles

that's the way life goes".

He'd also lost his true love

She "tossed him overboard"

How pleased was he to meet me

a new life lay in store.

So early the next morning

we swam home with the tide，

the sun was bright and beautiful；

Now he's a groom² and I'm a bride.
