Chinanews, Beijing, November 12 - Qianmen, located south of the Tiananmen Square, will be divided into 5 blocks, including a luxury-store block and a grand-hotel block. The information was released last Friday, and it was the first time ever for Beijing municipal government to release its plan on the renovation1 of Qianmen.

 

There will also be a pedestrians’ paradise, a block for the old shops, a block to display traditional Beijing quadrangles and an entertainment block.

 

“Now we are negotiating with hotel groups and luxury brands, but which ones will be settled in Qianmen are yet to be decided,” said Tian Yun, the president of Tianjie Corp, the enterprise that is responsible for the recruitment of Qianmen’s businesses.

 

The Qianmen Street was supposed to be opened to the general public in last October; however, it won’t be opened before next May, taking the quality of the project into consideration.
