Chinanews, Beijing, September 13 – China has selected the giant pandas for cooperative1 research with Australia. Wangwang and Funi, the selected pandas, will be sent there after their room is completed.

 

Wangwang is a male panda of 2 years old, and Funi is a female2 panda of 1. During their stay in Australia, the Australian government is expected to take up the responsibility of supporting and protecting them.

 

President Hu Jintao visited Australia on September 6, 2007, when he promised to provide a pair of giant pandas for the cooperative studies.
