Chinanews , Beijing, August 24 – The Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Beijing municipal government will host the 2007 Beijing Forum1 for Nobel Prize Winners on September 11 – 14, when 9 Nobel Prize winners, including Mundell, the father of Euro, will give speeches centered around energy and environment issues.

 

The 1st Beijing Forum for Nobel Prize Winners was held in 2005, with the “harmony and development of mankind” as its theme. The second one was held the following year, and its major topic was life science and health.

 

This year, the forum will focus on the economical development of energy and environment, particularly on the reduction of green-house gas emissions2 and the changes in global eco-environment.

 

Energy and environment have played a vital part in the survival and development of humans, and it requires the joint3 efforts of all the countries and regions in the world to find a solution to the problems in these two fields.
