Chinanews, Lhasa, August 6 – The first two traditional Tibetan medicine students graduted with a doctoral degree on August 2, 2007 in Lhasa, according to their instructor1, Nimaciren.

 

Both of them are Tibetans, one from Qinghai Province and the other from Tibet Autonomous2 Region.

 

They had studied under a traditional Tibetan medicine research program, jointly3 initiated4 by Beijing Traditional Chinese Medicine University and Traditional Tibetan Medicine Institute. By now, there are 38 postgraduate5 students studying under the program, and 36 have already finished their studyies. This year, another doctorate6 student has been recruited for study under the program.

 

Nowadays, with the operation of Qinghai-Tibet Railway, traditional Tibetan medicine has become more and more famous in the world, thus the regional government has invested a lot of money and effort in its development.
