| May 22 - Structural2 work on Hangzhou Bay Cross-sea Bridge, the longest of its kind in the world, was completed on Monday in east China's Zhejiang Province, 189 days ahead of schedule.
Xinhua News Agency reports the last piece of the 70-meter huge box girder was installed Monday, marking the completion of the bridge's concrete superstructure. The bridge starts in Ningbo City and ends at Jiaxing City in Zhejiang Province. It spans a total length of 36 kilometers. Total investment in it has reached 11.8 billion yuan (about 1.5 billion US dollars). Although structural construction has now been completed, the road surface has yet to be laid-down.
