由于GMAT针对的是MBA的者，而MBA的学习需要较强的数学推理能力，所以GMAT数学考试难度相对于GRE General而言较难。ETS所给出的数学考试大纲要求掌握以下知识：

　　·Arithmetic算术

　　·Elementary Algebra1基本代数

　　·Commonly Known Concepts of Geometry一般的几何概念

　　·Data Analysis数据分析

　　GMAT数学部分的所有题目都以两种方式--数学背景和日常生活背景给出，考查考生所具有的basic mathematical skill(基本数学技巧)、understanding of elementary math concept(基本数学概念的理解)以及ability to reason quantitatively3 and solve problems in quantitative2 setting(在数学环境中的数字推理和解题的能力)。

　　对于中国考生而言，GMAT数学部分的考查内容大部分是中国初中数学所涉及的内容，所以并不构成太大困难。但因其也会涉及少量统计学中的简单概念，强调数学概念在日常生活中的运用，并且以英文出题，所以中国考生须了解其考查特点，熟悉英文概念，掌握应试方法和技巧
