China's Import and Export of Electromechanical and Hi-tech

In the first 2 months of 2006, total import and export of electromechanical products hit US$126.4 billion, up by 33.1% on a year-on-year basis, of which export were US$68.97 billion and import US$57.42 billion, up by 34.3% and 31.8% respectively and accounting¹ for 57.9% and 53.6% respectively of total export and import of the nation. And trade surplus of such products totaled US$11.55 billion, rising by 48.1% compared with the same period of the previous year.

　　In Jan. and Feb., total import and export of hi-tech products reached US$68.48 billion, up by 34.9% on a year-on-year basis. Export were US$35.77 billion and import US$32.7 billion, up by 36.9% and 32.7% respectively. And trade surplus of such products amounted to US$3.07 billion
