Dwayne Johnson made his first trip to the Sundance Film Festival to premiere his indie wrestling comedy "Fighting With My Family."

Johnson decided¹ to make the movie through his Seven Bucks² Productions company after seeing a documentary about a pro-wrestler named Paige.

"I was immediately hooked and compelled. And I immediately identified with this crazy wrestling family who was very loving, loved the world of pro-wrestling – all of them wrestled³, by the way: the dad, the mom, the daughter, the brothers. And I come from that crazy, at times dysfunctional, wrestling family - my dad, my grandmother and grandfather, uncles, cousins, you name it. So there was something about the documentary that I really loved."

Johnson makes a cameo appearance as himself in the movie. He says Paige led a "female revolution in pro-wrestling."

"I got lucky that I played a small part in some key moments that happened in her career, and we are here, and we are at Sundance, man. It's awesome⁴".

The film is set for release on February 14th. Sundance runs through February 3.
