厄瓜多尔地震死亡人数已达413

Ecuador's government says at least 413 people are now known to have died in the earthquake that struck the country.

 

厄瓜多尔政府表示，到目前为止至少有413人在刚发生的地震灾害中丧生。

 

The 7.8-magnitude quake struck Ecuador's Pacific coast on Saturday, and the search for survivors¹ continues.

 

President Rafael Correa, during a visit to the worst-affected region, says the cost of rebuilding is likely to be in the billions of dollars.

 

He said it was the biggest tragedy to hit Ecuador in the past seven decades. Some 2-thousand people were injured.

 

The Organization of American States has said that some of the group's rarely-used emergency funds will be unlocked² and given to Ecuador to help it rebuild.
