Iran's foreign minister is suggesting they're closing the gaps when it comes to the country's nuclear negotiations1.

伊朗外交部长暗示,核会谈之中出现的差异正在逐渐缩小。

Mohammad-Javad Zarif has made the comments following talks with US Secretary of State John Kerry in the Swiss city of Lausanne on Monday.

The Iranian foreign minister has also been meeting with his counterparts from Britain, France and Germany in Brussels.

Meanwhile, Iranian Parliamentary Speaker Ali Larijani says Iranian lawmakers support the current negotiations.

But at the same time, Larijani says a failure to reach an agreement before the end of the month "would not be the end of the world" for Iran.

"Generally, in the Parliament, lawmakers want the talks to go ahead. Of course there are different viewpoints and opinions within the Parliament, but all in all we support the negotiations and support our dear negotiators to move forward with the talks."

Iran and the world major powers have a deadline to reach a political agreement before the end of this month.

A final deal, including technical aspects, has to be done by the end of June.

If successful, the negotiations will see Iran freeze its nuclear programme for at least a decade, with restrictions2 then eased over the following five years.

Sanctions currently being imposed on Iran will be phased out.
