Feb.5 - China has outlined a hygiene1 regulation requiring condom distribution facilities to be provided at public bath venues3.

 

The Ministries4 of Health and Commerce jointly5 drafted the regulation and started to solicit6 public opinion on Saturday, CRI citing the Beijing News.

 

The regulations will apply to all types of public bath venues, including bathhouses, saunas, hot springs and bathing pools.

 

Employees who serve customers at such places will be required to undergo physical examinations every year. They will not be allowed to go to work until they receive a health certificate.

 

The regulation also stipulates7 floors at bath venues need to be waterproof8, not slippery and easy to clean. Adequate showers should be installed, with the distance between two neighboring shower heads no less than 90 centimeters.

 

Shampoos and shower creams must meet hygienic standards for cosmetics9. Public articles and appliances, such as towels and slippers10, must be sterilized11. Single-use products will be strictly12 barred from reuse.

 

The regulation also details the locations should be kept away from human waste pits, waste disposal sites and other pollution sources.

 

Additionally, bath venue2 operators should outline emergency plans in case of an infectious disease outbreak and spread.
