cyberpower 网络强国

President Xi Jinping pledged on Thursday to strengthen China's Internet security and build the nation into a strong cyberpower.

 

习近平主席周四强调，要加强我国的网络安全，努力把我国建设成为网络强国。

 

Cyberpower（网络强国）由cyber和power两词合成，cyber作为前缀，代表与网络或电脑相关的事物，比如cyber space（网络空间），cyber-pal（网友），cyber attack（网络攻击）等；power作为名词除了指“权力”以外，也可以指在世界范围内颇有影响的“强国”，比如economic power（经济强国），superpower（超级强国）等。

 

中央网络安全和信息化领导小组（central Internet security and informatization leading group）要发挥集中统一领导作用，统筹协调各个领域的网络安全和信息化重大问题（to lead and coordinate¹ Internet security and informatization work among different sectors），制定实施国家网络安全和信息化发展战略、宏观规划和重大政策，不断增强安全保障能力（to draft national strategies, development plans and major policies in this field）。
