Beijing and Moscow signed two arms-sale contracts in which China will buy Russian fighter jets and submarines, media reports said.

 

媒体报道称，中俄已签署两份军售合同，中方将从俄罗斯购买战斗机和潜艇。

 

Arms sale就是指“军售”，arms-sale contracts则是“军售合同”，军事对立双方的“军备竞赛”则是arms race。此次从俄罗斯购买战斗机（fighter jets）和潜艇（submarine）是近十年来中国首次从俄购买大型军事技术装备（large military technological¹ equipment）。中方观察员表示，此次采购不指向任何第三方（not directed at any third party）。

 

美国曾经对中国实行的“武器禁运令”是arms embargo²。Embargo的意思是“禁止贸易令；禁运”，例如：impose an embargo on commerce with some country（禁止与某国通商）；The country has put an embargo on all imports.（该国对所有进口品实行禁运。）“解除禁运令”可以用lift/raise/remove an embargo来表示。
