70% of migrant workers' children feel happy, survey

Chinanews, Beijing, Feb. 3 – Recently China Adolescence1 Research Center (CARC) released a survey on the living conditions of migrant workers’ children, which shows that 70 percent of these children feel happy about their current life, more than 80 percent of them are confident in their future life, and 60 percent believe they can be useful people in society.

 

The survey was launched in 2006, and participated in by 2,395 secondary and elementary students from 13 schools in Beijing, most of them aged2 between 10 and 16.

 

Sun Yunxiao, vice3 director of CARC, had carefully analyzed4 the collected statistics. She said that most of these children enjoy studying and are trying to make their parents happy by being good students. And they also hope to be enrolled5 in universities. “They all endeavor to change their own life,” said Sun.

 

According to the survey, many of these children study hard and lead a frugal6 life. They can also communicate with their parents and teachers well.
