Chinanews, Feb.2 - China's Ministry1 of Railways has announced more supervision2 on train ticket sale activities during the Spring Festival travel season, and pledged3 no train fare hike.

 

Ministry spokesman4 Wang Yongping told a press conference in Beijing on Thursday that railway stations and illegal 'ticket touts5' have to face the most severe punishments for any form of fare rise.

 

Wang promised that railway stations across the country would provide more convenience to ensure that as many passengers as possible can buy tickets.

 

The number of people traveling by train during this year's Spring Festival travel peak is expected to hit 155 million.

 

It is learned that the train system is likely to see a four percent increase in passengers during the upcoming travel rush compared to last year.
