The Political Bureau, Its Standing1 Committee and the General Secretary
 
They are all elected by the plenary session of the Central Committee. When the plenum of the Central Committee is not in session, the Political Bureau and its Standing Committee exercise the functions and powers of the Central Committee. The Secretariat of the Central Committee is the administrative2 body of the Political Bureau and its Standing Committee. The general secretary of the Central Committee is responsible for calling sessions of both the Political Bureau and its Standing Committee, and is in charge of the work of the Secretariat of the Central Committee.
 
Members of the Central Military Commission of the CPC are decided3 on by the Central Committee.

中央政治局及其常务委员会、以及中央委员会总书记均由中央委员会全体会议选举产生。中央政治局和它的常务委员会在中央委员会全体会议闭会期间,行使中央委员会的职权。中央书记处是中央政治局和它的常务委员会的办事机构。中央委员会总书记负责召集政治局及其常委会议,并且管理中央书记处的工作。
