A recent survey of 2,239 public servants from 20 different central state organs found that 63.3 percent of those interviewed complained of moderate and above-average levels of stress, while 13.5 percent of them suffered severe or extreme stress, resulting in acute anxiety, insomnia¹ and depression.

 

近期一项针对20个中央国家机关2239名公务员的调查显示，63.3%的公务员表示有中度及以上压力感，其中有13.5%承受着重度或极重压力，表现为极度焦虑、失眠和情绪低落。

 

公务员的causes of stress（压力来源）主要有：heavy workloads²（工作量大）, overwhelming responsibility（工作责任多）, high public expectations（公众期望高）, lack of opportunities for promotion³（晋升机会少）以及 incessant⁴ scrutiny⁵（无休止的监督检查）。

 

另外，intense workplace competition（职场竞争激烈）和decline in public trust（公众信任度降低）也是导致公务员压力增加的原因。
